Ecovation gets through to the final of Global Enterprise Week’s (GEW) Business Entrepreneurship competition.

20/01/11

A number of members of the company worked hard to finalise Ecovation’s business plan to submit the ‘Ecofeeder’ idea and the plan of the business as a whole to GEW, and managed to beat thousands of other contenders to reach the final. This was a fantastic achievement to them and the company as a whole, and we are now benefitting from video mentoring and connections with Hermione Taylor, founder of environmental charity ‘The DoNation’. We now await the final round of judging to see whether or not Ecovation can beat the other finalists to win a business advisory session and link with Peter Jones. Local Newspaper the Morning Herald interviewed the members involved, publishing this: ‘The team is to meet Dragon's Den investor Peter Jones after they won a nation-wide business competition, beating more than 27,000 students from around the country to win UK Enterprise's Entrepreneurship Challenge. Their bird feeder concept has landed the team – Henry Joce, Megan Woodrow, Sarah Northmore, Ryan Hart, Abi Smith and Declan Reed – a trip to London to meet Mr Jones to discuss investment. [sic. This is yet to be confirmed] They will also receive video mentoring from one of the UK's top entrepreneurs to help them develop their product ideas.’
